Every order becomes a legally compliant e-invoice.

Generated, numbered, delivered and archived automatically for your paid Shopify orders — audit-proof. Orders that need a decision — an unclear tax case, a missing address — are held and listed, never invoiced wrongly. Every release is checked against the official validators (KoSIT · veraPDF), so your documents hold up when the tax office looks.

Automatic generation

Invoices and credit notes are created automatically when an order is paid or refunded, usually within seconds. Orders that need your attention — an unclear tax case, a missing address — are held and listed instead of being invoiced incorrectly. Multi-currency, discounts, taxes and OSS cross-border cases handled correctly.

Legally compliant formats

EN 16931 semantics in CII syntax. Factur-X and ZUGFeRD hybrid PDF/A-3 with embedded XML, plus XRechnung for German public-sector buyers. UBL syntax on the roadmap.

Peppol delivery Roadmap

On the roadmap. Send invoices to your B2B customers over the Peppol network through certified access points — with delivery receipts and automatic retries. Belgium's B2B mandate is covered as Peppol ships.

Sequential invoice numbers with gap detection, including a linked credit note

Sequential numbering

Sequential invoice numbering with gap detection and a linked audit trail — a clean, auditable number series that stands up to review.

Archive with tamper-evident hash chain verified across all documents

Long-term archiving

Invoices stored in their original format on EU servers for the full statutory retention period (e.g. 8 years in Germany, 10 in France, 7 in Belgium), with tamper-evident hashes and one-click export.

Built for your accountant

Bulk ZIP and CSV exports for tax filing. Buyer VAT ID validation against the EU VIES service, shown on the invoice checks panel (non-binding, point-in-time — it never blocks invoicing). The app interface is available in English and German; French is on the roadmap.

How it works

From install to your first compliant invoice in under five minutes.

Install & set up

Add InvoNorm from the Shopify App Store. Enter your company details and VAT number once — the setup wizard does the rest.

Automatic invoicing

Invoices are created automatically for your orders, with the right format and tax treatment per country. Fine-grained rules (B2B-only, on request) are on the roadmap.

Forget about it

Invoices are generated, delivered and archived automatically. You get a monthly summary and your accountant gets clean exports.

See it validated

We don't just claim compliance — we test for it. Every release is blocked unless our full sample set passes the official EN 16931 / PDF-A validators — the same tools the German authorities use. (Passing the validators verifies the format and semantics; it doesn't replace your own tax advice.)

Invoice compliance checks all green: EN 16931 semantic model, embedded factur-x.xml, XMP Factur-X metadata and SHA-256 hash chain

KoSIT validator

The official validator behind Germany's e-invoicing standard. Our sample invoices are checked against the full EN 16931 and XRechnung rules — semantics, not just well-formed XML.

veraPDF

The industry-reference PDF/A validator. Every hybrid sample is verified as a genuine PDF/A-3 with the XML embedded exactly the way bookkeeping systems expect.

Green before every release

Both validators run in our release pipeline. A single red check blocks the release — that's the bar for software your tax filings depend on.

No accounting software required

The usual route to compliant e-invoices runs through an accounting-suite subscription. InvoNorm runs natively in Shopify — one app, done.

Frequently asked questions

Do I really need e-invoicing for my Shopify store?

If you sell to business customers in Germany, France, Belgium or Poland — increasingly yes, by law. Germany requires businesses to be able to receive structured e-invoices (since 2025); issuing becomes mandatory in stages from 2027 (large businesses) to 2028, subject to legal exceptions such as small-business (Kleinunternehmer) and low-value-invoice rules. France phases issuing in from September 2026 (large businesses) to September 2027 (all). Penalties apply for non-compliance.

What formats does InvoNorm generate?

Today: Factur-X (France), ZUGFeRD 2.x (Germany) and XRechnung (German public sector) — all based on the European standard EN 16931 and tested against the official KoSIT and veraPDF validators on every release. UBL and Peppol BIS 3.0 network delivery are on the roadmap.

Does it work for B2C orders too?

Yes — B2C orders are invoiced as well, and consumer invoices are compliant PDFs where structured formats are not required. Per-order rules (B2B-only, on request) are on the roadmap.

I already use a PDF invoice app — do I need InvoNorm too?

PDF invoice apps are built for good-looking documents. The new mandates require structured EN 16931 XML (ZUGFeRD, XRechnung, Factur-X) that passes official validation — and that is InvoNorm's whole job: validator-tested releases, sequential numbering with gap detection and statutory archiving, without an accounting-suite subscription. Keep your PDF app for design if you like, or let InvoNorm handle both.

Do I need my own mail server?

Yes. InvoNorm sends invoices through your own SMTP server, so the mail comes from your domain and your delivery reputation stays yours. You enter the host, port and credentials once in Settings. If your shop already sends transactional mail, those same credentials usually work.

Where is my data stored?

All invoice data is stored and archived exclusively on servers in the European Union, with tamper-evident hashing. Processing is GDPR-aligned and backed by a data processing agreement (DPA) available for every plan; any support access from outside the EU is disclosed in our Privacy Policy and covered by EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

What happens to my invoices if I uninstall the app?

You can export your complete archive — original PDFs and XML plus a CSV index — with one click at any time, including right before you uninstall. After uninstallation we follow Shopify's GDPR process: Shopify sends its data-erasure request 48 hours after you uninstall, and we then erase your shop's personal data within 30 days, except invoice archives that tax law requires us to keep. Your statutory retention duty stays with you, so we make leaving safe — no lock-in.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Billing runs through Shopify on a monthly basis — you can upgrade, downgrade or cancel anytime from your Shopify admin. No setup fees, no minimum term.

When can I install it?

Right now — InvoNorm is live on the Shopify App Store. A free plan is available and no credit card is required.
